Trouble with Dataflow

All,

I'm having an issue importing data using dataflows to an already existing table. The issue is one of the columns in the Excel document is supposed to correspond with a choice field, which I believe has unique IDs, at least that's the only thing I can think of that is preventing the import. Example and error message below: *NOTE* It failed for all territories, not just US South West.

Hello, @swebb111, you need to check the Choices the is linked to the column Territory Name and make sure that they match what you have in Excel. Edit the column and then check the choices.

@AhmedSalih The Excel document matches the correct name. The table I'm trying to import to for the territory name is a lookup field pointing to another table, the territory table, that has all of our territories listed there. I don't know if that information is helpful.

@swebb111, use the Merge queries in the Power Query in the Dataflow. Make sure that you add both tables, the the territory table and the table that you are trying to import. Both tables should be in the same Excel workbook (tabs/sheets). Then you add them to the power query.

Your territory table is the ONE Side of the relationship, and the other table (the one you are trying to import to Dataverse table) is the Many side. You will do a right join. That will create a new column with nested table values: Click the Expand Icon and only select the Territory value. This will create a text column with the values<< Use this new column to load the territory column in the Dataverse table.

@AhmedSalih I tried that this morning, but I'm not sure that I'm doing it correctly. Let me reiterate the steps I'm trying to take:

    1. Import an Excel document to an existing table in Dynamics 365; column IDs have been altered to match what I have in CRM currently.

    2. TerritoryID correlates to TerritoryCode in the Territory table; the Territory ID in the existing sheet is a string, but I believe this is a choice data type in the Accounts table w/ the relationship between TerritoryID and TerritoryCode

    3. The Merge query function I'm using clears/nulls all values in the table besides the one I've chosen. I don't know if I've chosen the right column to associate? Never the less I tried importing via the dataflow, and it still failed with the same errors.
