Dataverse Power app

I’m building a power app on dataverse. I have number of employees with unique competencies. For example,

Sales Person has following competencies:

Customer service skill - Mastery

Team work skill - Mastery

Technical Person will have:

Computer Skills - Mastery

Programming Skill - Mastery

How can I build a table schema that will store several employees and their unique competencies. I will then create model driven app/canvas that will only show competencies of user who is logged in. Any help would be great. Many thanks!

I have the same question (0)

    Hi @Mtfarooq

The following is an example of how you could set this up.

The Level would just be a Choice column with the different levels.  When you add related User Skill record to the User you can select the Skill Group first and then show only the related records to this (so you see only the technical skills as an example) on your form.  You can set this type of dependent choice list filter on the form.  See this link as example (https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/Microsoft-Dataverse/Dependent-Choice-list-in-Dataverse-Common-Data-Service/td-p/753835

    Hi @dpoggemann

Do you mean to create a separate table for each employee? How logged user will be able to see only their competencies? Also their is additional requirement that each employee should be able to suit written responses towards each competency for the manager to review/approve. Many thanks!

    Hi @Mtfarooq ,

The User table would contain all the users that are in the Environment.  When the user creates the records for the user skills then the owner would be assigned to them when they create the record and you can utilize the role assigned to that user to be at the "User" level for that table so they can only see their own records.  Please review https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-platform/admin/wp-security-cds for security in Dataverse.

You can just add another column to your User Skill table for the user's comments on the skill... This is an unique table that relates the skill to the user and you can have additional fields describing this on that table (i.e. date skill assessed, comments, etc.)

    Hi @Mtfarooq ,

I would suggest the following to get a baseline:
