Hello,
i am relativ new to Powerplatform and worked with the guides from the documentation and Learnpaths. I build a SOlution containing various Tables, JS-Files, Flows, and a modeldriven app all in one Solution. A colleague told me i should put the Tables in a seperate Solution and the Logic in another one, because of maintainability. I am a liitle bit confused because i couldnt find anything on this topic.

so is there anything in the offical doucumantaion for this concept or where could i find articles to this? And if i seperate these 2 things how do i deploy with this concept to Production. should this be in 1 Solution or do i keep the seperate Solutions in Production. I hope this was konda clear.

Your friend is right, it's more a maintainability issue than anything else, technically nothing stops you from stuffing everything into one solution, it has its advantages/disadvantages.

    Advanatages:
    1. when everthing is in one solution, then dependency errors rarely happen.
    2. For smaller size solutions this is a better approach.

    Disadvantages
    1. As the solution size grows bigger, the time it takes to import and export also increases.
    2. For big solutions (20+ tables, flows, etc.) the import almost becomes impossible with timeouts.
    3. Change in a tiny JavaScript can cause you import full solution unnecessarily.
    4. For large solution it's absolutely recommended to have separate solutions for tables, flows, code, reports, scripts, security roles.

    Hi,
thanks for the answer, i did a little bit of research. For the Project i am workin gon i figured out best would be 3 Solutions:

1 Data: where alle tables with releations and choices are stored
2 Application: The ModelDriven app, Pages, Webresources, Forms, Views, Processess, BPF and security Roles
3 Automation: Cloud FLows with COnnection since there are over 40

Would this be a correct approch?

ANd the issue iam facing now is extract alle the things from the one solution, are there any tips or is this just a painful thing i have to through
