We have 2 SharePoint lists:-

1) Projects

2) Tasks. The Tasks list has a SharePoint lookup field which reference the Projects list, as follow:-

now the Project list has around 11,000 items >> and when we added an Edit form for the Tasks list inside Power Apps canvas app we got this error on the Project lookup field:-

so is there a way to overcome this?

Make sure you have some indexed columns and I think that all you need to do is make sure that this column is one of those indexed ones?

@EddieE yes we already defined indexes for the columns. where we defined an Index on the Project lookup field inside the Tasks list as follow:-

and also we index the Title field inside the Projects list, as follow:-

but still we are getting the error.. any advice?

Yeah ok, I thought that may not work tbh. I've used that technique for Text / Numeric columns before and it does work - just wasn't sure about LookUp columns because I avoid them in my PowerApps. They are too problematic.

Here are a few forum links that may help you out? The first one seems to provide a solution but I cannot test because I don't have a large enough list to test on. The other 2 (slightly older) suggest that the only way to solve this is to create Text/Numeric helper columns and use these in your filtering.
