Change Power Automate Connections without altering flow

Hi ,

Is there a better way to manage Power Automate flows. Every time I share the flows to another environment I had to manually change the connections. It will be good if there is a way without changing the flows.

Regards

Allam

I have the same question (1)

    Hi @APurushotham,

You should use Solutions to move your flows to other environments. When you use Solutions, you can use Connection References as a way to remove dependencies between the flow and a specific connection, which will change from environment to environment. You can change the connection in the flow settings page rather than modifying a flow directly.

    Hello @APurushotham

    There are Multiple Ways Available,

    1. As suggested by @ChrisPiasecki you can go with solution and connection Reference.

    2. Create Application User in Azure and Use the Client Id and Client Secret in the Flow as a Connection Reference / Environment variable

    Note :

Before moving solutions make sure Same Application User created in  Destination and Source Environment.

This Link will help you how to Create Application User in Dataverse Environment : https://microsoftcrmtechie.blogspot.com/2022/02/is-application-user-view-not-displaying.html?m=1

@rampprakash, using the same application user like this in multiple environments is a poor security practice and will also have a wider spread negative impact if the application user was every changed or removed.

When we import a solution with a flow and a connection reference from one environment to another, does solution import also creates connections in new environment which are needed for my flow?

If not, how we can create the connections before we import solution programatically? instead of manual intervention.
