How to change bot name? / Session Question

Hi all,

I just started using PVA and it’s the most amazing thing ever.  I am currently using the free license so I have no premium options (which is fine as it’s a small group). I just wanted to know how I could change the Bots name? I cannot locate it in settings.

also, I would like to know if there is a session limit per user with the user license? Is there a certain amount of chats that can be sent a day per individual?

thank you all in advance!

    Hi @Anonymous ,

    Change bot name:

    You need to open the PVA studio (edit your bot) >> Go to Manage (left menu) >> Details >> after changing the name, and icon, you need to save and publish your bot.

    Also, you can see the limits here: Rate limits for chatbots - Power Virtual Agents | Microsoft Docs

    Hi @renatoromao,

    Thank you for your reply.  Yes I tried the bot name and changing it, but whenever I change it and save/publish, it just appears with a bunch of lettering.

    Also, I read the limit chatbot but I could not understand it well with the user license (non premium subscription).  Would you be able to tell me for a regular user license, how the limits work?

    Hi @Anonymous , after you change the bot name, it can take a while for it to reflect in Teams due to client caching. You can validate your change by refreshing the browser (if you are using Teams in web) or sign-in and out again from Teams Desktop client.

    The doc below has more detail on the licensing difference:

    @Anonymous ,

    Did you install it after publishing?

    Look at this topic: Solved: Re: An ID instead of the Bot Name - Power Platform Community (microsoft.com)

    Would you be able to tell me for a regular user license, how the limits work?

    If you are using the PVA for Teams, you can consider the Teams limits. Otherwise, for the PVA for Web, you can consider the premium license limits without the premium benefits (Power automate premium connectors, Bot Framework skills, and so on).
