Dataverse Web API

Hi all, I would appreciate any advice regarding the Dataverse API.

1) How can I retrieve a complete list of all the names of standard and custom tables in Dataverse?

2) How can I obtain the schema or column information for a specific table in Dataverse?

3) As the Dataverse has a 1-GB size limitation for API responses, 5000 records limitation, could anyone advise a method for retrieving Dataverse table data that exceeds 1GB in size?

I have the same question (0)

    Hi @yilouis88 ,

    1. Get list of tables in your dataverse environment. Execute the web Api as

    https://[OrgName].crm.dynamics.com/api/data/v9.2/entities

    2. Schema or column based while fetching data of table.

When retrieving record or multiple records using fetchxml, make sure you insert the columns you want else use <all-attributes> so it gets all columns in that table.

    3. When fetched then you get only 5000 records, now there's a flag that shows if there's more records and which page you want to see. So moving on next page will show you next set of 5000 records or pending records.

    Reference documentation

    Fetching more data than 5000

    Hope this helps

    Hi Ethan,

    Thanks for your advices.

Regarding no 3, what if the customer only want to use Dataverse Web API. Thanks!

    Hi @yilouis88 ,

It'll be fine as long as the info in exposed to the dataverse API and you get desired output.

If some things require internal fetchxml then you can use that as well.

I've majorly used fetchxml from dataverse and applied paginated records to fetch more records.

Do test out to get your desired results. 🙂
