Custom Connector and Dataverse - How to Lookup

Hello best Community 🙂

Maybe someone can help me out on this.

I've created a Custom Connector to get Data from a hybrid BC version to the Dataverse to use the data in Portal Views / Forms.

The problem iam facing right now is, that i cant create real lookups for the Data.

For Example:

I get all the Data with the custom connector for a table with names from different persons. On the other side i have the Dataverse with tables related to the ContactTable. So i can display the right data to the person, who logged in in the Portal.
The Problem is, i have to create the lookups by myself because the data from the custom connector is just hard data. A solution i figured out was, to make a Business Rule that change the Name field to an lookup with the right field on the contact table. This works fine but oh this i have to create a new business rule for every new name by myself. And there are many different names and there are coming every day new names. So i need a way to automate this. Does somebody have an idea how i could automate this step? Or how i handle the lookups ?

Iam grateful for every help i could get.

Cheers 🙂

Sounds like maybe a Custom Connector isn't the right tool for this. Have you looked at Dataflows? You can schedule them to run frequently to pull in the data form your source and they automatically pick up on table keys to resolve upserts. This allows you to have real rows and real lookups.
