If I activate my Power Virtual Agent license, will I be charged the monthly rate even if I haven't published any BOTs or or had any triggers?

I activated my license as I was watching a session from the Microsoft 365 Virtual Marathon, but I'm wondering now if I will get charged $1,000/month now, or only if my BOT is published and/or if anything triggers the BOT.

Thanks

    Hi @AMKCS ,

Did you activated the Free license or did you buy a license?

I believe that it was the free license.  I navigated to pva.microsoft.com, signed in with my M365 E5 account, created a BOT, and got into the landing page.  In my Admin Center -> Billing section I see "Dynamics 365 AI for Customer Service Virtual Agents Viral SKU," but I believe that's for Power Apps, if I'm not mistaken.

Also, if it was the free version that I signed up for, does it turn into the paid version after 6-months, or whatever grace period that is available is over?

    Thanks

    @AMKCS ,

You started the free license, no worries. 🙂

Regarding the 6 free months, you need to see this promotion because have some requirements: https://powerplatform.microsoft.com/covid-19-offer/

And you can use per 60 days free, and extend to 30 more days.

Thank you.  Those links were very helpful.  I do not see PVA as a purchased product in my tenant.

I have one more question, and I'm sorry for asking again and again, but I was looking through the licensing guide for Power Apps, Power Automate, and PVA, and there is no information on what I can do with the free license for PVA that I signed up for.

    1. Can I develop BOTs and publish them for free?
    2. Can I interact with them for free?
    3. Is there a time period that I can use the features for free but then it will ask my to purchase a license?
    4. When do I have to worry about the $1,000/month?

    Thanks again.

    Regarding your questions:

    1. Can I develop BOTs and publish them for free?
Yes, you can deploy using the Microsoft domain (demo website). PVA Portal >> Manage >> Channels >> Demo website.
And you can deploy inside other channels, is free if you use the channel free. If you are using a private channel (like Slack, Skype) maybe you need to be attentive to pay the channel license but is not related to the PVA license.

    2. Can I interact with them for free?
      Yes 🙂

    3. Is there a time period that I can use the features for free but then it will ask my to purchase a license?
60 days trial period + increments 30 days extending.
After each finish period, you will receive the Microsoft notification about the expiry license.
You can see this video to understand how can you extend your license (is in Portuguese, but you can see the steps): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vseUU6TuEdI&list=PLWGKTxKF5vWcaiFXJg5Wdc5oiXgZOxGnd&index=9

    4. When do I have to worry about the $1,000/month?
When your extended time is finishing.
