Launching a PDF into or from powerapps, improvements?

Its been a few years since this subject has been updated.  I was hoping for a more pallatable way to get a PDF file from the filesystem (network drive) into powerapps to view with the PDF object, or even to launch() it into a window.  The past solution was to use filesystem actions in flow to get it into a base64 blob, then pass it through that way.  Cumbersome and inefficient.  Launch() appears to work behind the scenes (monitor) but the window never opens.  But, if you launch() a http web site address it works fine.  So, I think there are still technicalities where we have to 'hide' the pdf as a base64 to sneak it in.  Hoping for a better solution soon.  One of those little irritations.

To head off the suggestion, yes it would be great if these files were in sharepoint.  That works fine, but unfortunately, this group of files are not, and wont be.

Regards

I had to do something similar a long time ago, but I would say it was anything more elegant (I think your current approach is probably better). I had a schedule flow that copied the file to SharePoint so that I can access it in the App.

Im afraid I have not seen any improvements or new techniques

Thanks @wyattdave.  Yea, there are a lot of ways to do things.  Creativity is an absolute in this world.  Seems some things are not straightforward as they they could (should?) be.
