Create Excel files from PowerApps

Hi! We are using a Power App for listing acccess in a specific area at our work facility.

Some users will have a much smoother workflow if they are able to create a Excel-file from the Power Apps with their own selection of data. Is this possible?

We will need the following functions:

  • The user use checkboxes to decide which columns from the Dataverse table to show in the new Excel-file
  • Multiple inputs to filter rows. For instance: Location = Computer room.
  • Either download the Excel file directly or send it by e-mail.

Cheers!

    Hi @mrstian89,

Do you want to create an excel table in Power Apps?

If you want to generate an excel file in Power Apps, I am afraid that there is no way to achieve this currently.

Power Apps is a platform that we process data based on a data source from the data base like OneDrive, Dataverser, SharePoint or SQL.

Power Apps does not support to create a table as the data source, it is a place where connects data source to.

Not even possible to start a flow which will generate an Excel-file or similar filtered by inputs in Power Apps?

    Hi @mrstian89,

    That's possible.

You could use the Power Apps trigger, and then add the Create file action so that you could name the file based on input from power apps.

Here is a blog for your reference:
