In dataverse I have table A,B,C and table A and B have 1:N relationship and tables B and C have 1:N relationship as well. I want to get a column value in table A to auto-populate and display in Table C. I have a quick view in table B to show the field from table A. How do I achieve that.
Hi @Echo4674
Is it a model driven app or canvas app you're building?
Kind regards
Its Model driven app

You can create a new simple main form in Table B which has the Quick View form to show the field from Table A. Then, embed that new form in Table C with the Form Component control and show it.
Here are some useful links about Form Component Control
Here's the outcome
How it looks without populating the lookup B on table C.
The main form of Table B itself with the Quick View to the fields from Table A.
Do you want just show the value from table A or do you want to set value on a column on table C?If you want populate the field on the table C, you can just create an easy javascript resource with a fetchXml inside it. When you load your form on create, you can read that value through your fetch and populate the field on table C
I want to get the value from Table A and display it in Table C. Javascript seems the way, Do You have any sample script by any chance or resource recommendation? Thank you.
Hi @Echo4674 ,
I have created a number of applications with this situation. I normally carry the A table to the C table in the mappings or in real-time workflows. I know you shouldn't have to since the relationship is two levels up but it really makes it a lot easier.
What I normally do:
This is really nice when working in Model-Based Power Apps because you can now see A and B lookups on C table. The only challenge here is if B changes relationship to have a different parent (i.e. moving from A to E or something like that), this will not update the A value on the C table. Normally this is not the case with what I am working with and you could always write a Power Automate Flow to update this relationship if needed.
Just for display purposes, you don't need any JavaScript. You can achieve it by configuring the Quick View form and the Form Component control as in my reply above.
Hi @dpoggemann thank you ffor the help and One more question, I am having difficulty with the relationship adding A to map from B to C table
You can do this in the "Mappings" in the relationship. Go into the classic interface and into the 1:N relationship from B to C and you will see "Mappings" as an option on the left navigation. This is where you add...
See below...
@LinnZawWin How can I do that in Dataverse for Teams?
