Disable one choice from ComboBox

Hy guys,

i have a ComboBox referring to a SharePoint list to get the choices from the column "Kategorie"

i used this code to get the choices as Items

Choices([@’ARCH’].Kategorie)

Let’s say i have 4 different choices for example:

Choice 1

Choice 2

Choice 3

Choice 4

Is there a possibility to only show choice 1, choice 2 and choice 4 in the ComboBox by using Choices()?

Hi Primo Centurio ,

Use collection it will help you show choices in combobox. 🤞

Try below formula OnStart
ClearCollect(
FilteredChoices,
Filter(Choices([@'ARCH'].Kategorie), Value in ["Choice 1", "Choice 2", "Choice 4"])
)

Set Item on combobox
FilteredChoices

Here's an approach you can use to show only "Choice 1", "Choice 2", and "Choice 4" while still pulling the choices from your Kategorie column:

ComboBox Items Property: Instead of using Choices([@'ARCH'].Kategorie) directly, you can apply a filter to only show the specific choices you want. Use this formula in the Items property of the ComboBox:

Filter(Choices([@'ARCH'].Kategorie), Value in ["Choice 1", "Choice 2", "Choice 4"])

This will filter the options and display only the choices you want in the ComboBox.

i have one question concerning your codes.
What if someone add "Choice 5" to the Choices on the SharePoint list, which has to been shown into the ComboBox too.
Is there another possibility/way so that i do not have to update the code each time someone adds a new choice?

Hi @Primo Centurio,

If someone add "Choice 5" to the Choices on the SharePoint list, then it that case you have to edit the code again.

However, I can provide you some other workaround.

Create Kategorie as single line text data type column in SP list ARCH.

Create another SP list lets say "Kategorie".

This new list will have 2 columns, Name of Single Line text data type and IsActive of Yes/NO data type and default is set to No.

Then in app for the item property of combo box, you can have this code: Filter(Kategorie, IsActive = true). With this only items which are set to active will be shown in app and even if anybody add new item in the list Kategorie will be set to No because of default is set to No.

If your requirement is to exclude "Choice 3", you can use this formula. If "Choice 5" were added to SharePoint later, this formula would show "Choice 5"

Filter(Choices([@'ARCH'].Kategorie), Value <> "Choice 3" )
