How to get sharepoint field description?

Good day.

I am developing a powerapp that is connected to our sharepoint online list.

In our list, i have set a description in one our our Sharepoint fields.

sharepoint field description setting.PNG

Ex:   Field Name: ProvisionStatus

Additional Column Settings   - Description:  "This is the current status of your site request".

In Powerapp, how do i get the description of that Field and display it on a datacard in a form?

i cannot seem to find a property like, ThisItem.ProvisionStatus.Description??? It does not work.

I need to add that description on every sharepoint field datacard to provide users with information about the field.

Hoping for your help.

thank you,

Rommel

    Hi @rommeldvo,

    Thanks for the feedback.

But I am afraid currently that is not supported.

Please also check the following document for more known issues when connecting SharePoint list in PowerApps:

Connect from Microsoft PowerApps to SharePoint

Please consider submit this as an idea under PowerApps idea forum:

Add the default description column to your table, its the only way.

You can add description into Powerapp. Select object and go to field into tab Advanced > Data > HintText. This text will be displayed in the object when the field in the form is empty.

This only helps with certain column types. For example it doesn't show up if you add a Tooltip to a date column.

No, this only works for text fields. If you want to add a description to a lookup field, hoaw can you do that?

If only it could be as fast to develop PowerApps than it has been to abandon InfoPath...........
