What is the TracelogBase in dataverse and how do I delete data from it? Ours is growing exponentially and taking us over capacity.
Hi @Rachelb
TraceLogBase is where any plugins trace logs are kept so first of all you need to disable TraceLog if you do not need it to troubleshoot any issues.
To disable trace log in dataverse please follow the below:
Then you can schedule a bulk deletion Job to get rid of trace log
To do this Go to Settings->System Jobs
And Choose Plugin Trace Logs
Hope this helps:
Hi Mira
It is not the PlugIn trace log table that is growing - that is Log capacity. It is the Database table TraceLogBase. see image attached
Hello @Rachelb,
As mentioned by @Mira_Ghaly, Trace Log Base is nothing but Plugin TRACE Logs. To turn off the Plugin logs
1. Navigate to https://make.powerapps.com
2. Click Gear Icon at the TOP
3. Click Advance Settings
4. Select Administration --> Select System settings
5. Select Audit Log Turned to OFF.

Hi,
Tracelog entity is being used by Microsoft internally to log the error by the platform for troubleshooting.
I would recommend you to log a microsoft support ticket to get the help from Microsoft because we don't have control on this table and you can not turn off the logging to this table like we have it for plugin trace log.
Please mark my answer verified if this is helpful!

@Rachelb
TraceLogBase = Plugin Trace Log
As mentioned earlier you need to turn it off and Perform a bulk delete to reduce the table size
Hi, Both this answer and the one from @mira_Ghaly are part answers. Indeed the Plug in trace log can be changed to reduce the number of messages or be completely switched off. Plug in Trace logs can also be deleted in Bulk - as ours are every 2 days. BUT the data already stored in the Database in the TraceLogBase is only accessible by Microsoft and can only be removed by submitting a support ticket to Microsoft as answered by @bipinshan (see below)
Hi @Mira_Ghaly @bipinshan @rampprakash Thanks for your help. The TraceLogBase table can be found in advanced find, it is called Traces and you can set up a bulk delete job in CRM. Microsoft support can delete data at the back end, but this would be a last resort. I had a support call with microsoft engineer Slav Mitrev who showed me the table. I have run a bulk delete and our over capacity issue is gone. The TraceLogBase stores alerts and errors primarily from mailboxes in Dynamics. Just thought I would post this solution to help anyone else who has been going round in circls trying to find out what the TraceLogBace is.
Hi @Rachelb, @Mira_Ghaly , @rampprakash,Just to clarify to reduce confusion as I believe the accepted solutions are incorrect. @Rachelb is actually correct, tracelog/tracelogbase is not plugintracelog/plugintracelogbase. These are 2 different tables. The settings that @Mira_Ghaly refers to is the plugintracelogs. The tracelog is an internal trace mainly used from what I've seen to log mailbox related activities. Both can be cleaned up via bulk delete jobs and access through Advanced Find.Hope this clarifies!
