New Icon (Preview) Tooltip not working

In the new Icon (Preview, not the Classic Icons), there is an option for tooltip.
But for some reason the tooltip text does not pop up like the tooltip of other controls (e.g. classic icons).
Any suggestion?

    when you are comparing with classic icons i asume u want to use modern ones?
     
    if thats the case, i would suggest to stick to the classic ones. modern ones are still very buggy (all controls) and do not offer more benefits compared to issues they bring.
     
     
    in almost every case there are no solutions to buggy modern controls until now.

    Modern icons are in Preview right now so I would advise not using them too. I added a modern on the screen and passed some text to see how it works. It didn't work for me in Edit or Published mode. I think we all will need to wait for MS to fix these issues before we can use them in Production apps.
