Icon button with launch action

Hello, I created an app that contains a form to register before going to "Safety induction" lesson and then to the test. In the "lesson" screen I would love to insert icon with an action that opens a PPT file, is it possible? An alternative would be a icon button with a launch action that opens a web page which contains the PPT. I tried with the URL of Google but it does not work... it seems that the problem comes from the ":" of the URL. Could someone helps me solve this problem? Thanks 🙂

    Hey @Anonymous

You can use the Launch() function to point at a website where your ppt is located.

    Example: Launch("https://...")

Download, Launch, and Param functions in PowerApps

    Syntax

    Download( Address )

    • Address - Required. The address of a web resource to download.

    Launch( Address [, ParameterName1, ParameterValue1, ... ] )

    • Address - Required. The address of a webpage or the ID of an app to launch.

    • ParameterName(s) - Optional. Parameter name.

    • ParameterValue(s) - Optional. Corresponding parameter values to pass to the app or the webpage.

    Param( ParameterName )

    • ParameterName - Required. The name of the parameter passed to the app.

    Hope this helps.

    Kind regards

I tried with Wikipedia and it doesn't work... it seems there is an error in the syntax. I also tried to put Launch("http://....") but is doesn't work neither.

    Hey @Anonymous

You have to put your site between double quotes

    Example: Launch("https://www.google.com")

https://... wont work because it doesnt exists and isnt even valid, it was just an example of how you put an url in the launch function.

    Kind regards

    Tom
