Hi All,

I went through the licensing section on Power Apps on their main website. However, I was unable to get full clarity.

At my work, I am proposing an app created on Power Apps with an SQL backend. I know that connecting to SQL needs a premium connector, so will need a Power Apps premium license. My question is, once the app is built and published, will the end users also need a premium license or will their M365 license be sufficient?

Hi @CU09071057-3,

Yes - if a Power Apps is connected to a data source which requires a Premium connector (such as SQL), then every user will also require a Premium Licence as all Power Apps connections are implemented and authenticated in the context of the logged-in user (this is done at their first log-in and they will not be able to access any data without a properly licensed connector.

M365 license - Only be sufficient if you are using only sharepoint as datasource and standard connectors.
