Hi Builders,

I am trying to develop a popup with edit form in it which will be used in multiple places inside the application. so i need to design it as reusable component.

But inside a component, i cannot able to Insert/Add a form control. The specific options are disabled.

So form control are not allowed to be added inside a component.

I googled and cannot able to find a lead regarding this.

Kindly share your thoughts.

Thanks for you time and suggestion.

Certain controls can't be added to components, including forms.  This is sort of mentioned in the "Known Limitations" on the Component Documentation, but it's not written in the clearest way.

For a component to do what you want, you'd need to build your own "form" in it.

Just add controls and a "Submit" button, but instead of Submit you'd do a Patch() function, and manually reference each control for each column in your datasource.

    E.g.

The easiest way to do this is to let the component access the app scope.

This lets you access your datasources and do Patch() right in the component.  Otherwise, you'd have to use custom input/output properties to handle passing data sources/records into the component and handle output formulas when triggered by a button in the component.
