Power app for weekly breakfast order

The company orders breakfast sandwiches for it's employees for a Friday morning. The order needs to be made on Wednesday with the cafe. If possible, it would be great if we could somehow send a notification/alert to the employees on a Wednesday morning to check/remind them whether they want a sandwich on Friday or not. The employee can then submit if they are having one or not and the submission results will then go to the person who makes the order so they can order the correct quantity for the employees that are physically in the office.

Been thinking this might be best as a canvas app, but wondering if I should do this via a form or gallery, any help, advice or suggestions would be appreciated as I am a beginner with Power Platform and want to learn more and excel.

    Hey

I think maybe it would even be better to use power automate.

there you could send a mail to everyone with option. Something like do you want a sandwich 'Yes", "No".
Or you could also add as many options as you like.

You could then send an email to the responsible person with just the count of each selected buttons.
I think this would make the most sense.

If this Answer solved your problem please accept it as solution so others can find it aswell.

If it helped in any other way consider to like it so we keep supporting eachother.

    Hi there,

    I agree with DBO DV.

    Here's how I have done it -

Friday morning you can check the the SP list to see how many Yeses you received and from whom before ordering.

If this answers your query, please mark this response as the answer.
If its helpful, please leave a like. Thanks!

    Hi,
First, creating a canvas app for a breakfast reservation is a really good exercise to learn Power Apps ;)
I've created a meal Reservation app for my company I think that can inspire you and here is the steps that I have follow for the creation.
    1. Create the Database => SharePoint ? Dataverse ? Dataverse for Teams ? SQL ? Excel ?
In your case, I think the easiest way is to make just one SharePoint list for reservations.
    2. For the notification/alert to the employees on a Wednesday and the submission results then go to the person who makes the order I recommend Power Automate flows => a scheduled for the first one with the Canvas app link sending in Teams chat or email and another scheduled flow for the second with an HTML table send in pdf by mail/teams.
But there is a lot of possibilities ! For my team I created a pdf icon in the canvas that call a Power Automate Flow to send by email the reservations of the day in a pdf. It depends of the needs and digital maturity of the users :)
    3. For the Canvas app, I'll do simple if it's only for each friday you can just put a Form on the first screen linked to the SharePoint reservation and visible only the wednesday (Visible property). For the choice of the sandwich create a dropdown with the choices in item properties. To send the reservations infos I recommend the Patch function to automaticaly add the right friday date based on function or simply with the Created date (wednesday) + 2.

    4. After doing all of this, don't forget to share, test and document your app before using it in production.

If it's not clear enough, I can create a Proof of concept for you
