Hi everyone,

I have been using attachment control through from edit form control on canvas app for a while. Just giving data source and only use attachment control to different screen. But today, realize that when I tried to this method, it doesn't worked.

I just copied the attachment and paste to another screen it gave me like this.
You can check the screen recording as well

I have the same question (0)

    hey

i just tried to recreate your issue but wasnt ablt to.

i inserted a form that has attachment column and copied it to another blank screen but it acts as normal.

can it be the case, that u tried to copy the control from a display form instead of edit form?
when i use a displayform it does not work and it looks like the one u showed on the screenrecording

if my answer helped please mark as verified answer

    cheers

    Hi,

And if you click on the 'X' to show the error, what you got ? It feels like datacardvalue still bind to stuff inside the form. You need to change bindings.

    Let us know!

    @ltfDre Hi,
The attachment control, when you copy it , it copies parent propeties.
You can remove the Parent.Default  from the copied control , Items property, and remove Parent.DisplayName from ToolTips,
then the Border color as well.

Actually, my issue was not related to the error or parent properties of the attachment control. Maybe I could not correctly told the issue

When I copied and paste the attachment control there is no attached area over there, as you can see the screenshoot, before copy the controller, showing "Attach Files" but when I copy and paste it anywhere on the canvas, it remove the attached area only showing the text that is "There is nothing attached"

Sorry for confusion if I did not provide clear description of the issue.

I had already selected edit form. It surprised me when I could not see the attach area,

I just want to find the issue prevent it but could not find any proper solution yet.

    thanks for the answer

it looks like you copy the control from one screen and paste it outside of the form on the same screen?

can u try to copy paste it to a different (blank) screen and see if it works?

Unfortunately, As the provided screnshoot record, I added edit form and apart the attachment control on it, and paste it to different location of the screen but result was not changed. Interesting part of this case is that I have already used different screens the attachment control through this way, but it does not work at now.

I don't know that is temporarily issue or whatever that but I'm sure never changed app version or something

I am having this exact same issue, and I believe it is related to the new "Copy as code" and "Paste as code" feature.

As a workaround, you can click and drag the component using the "Tree view" on the left of Power Apps. This will keep the "Upload file" button working, just be sure to never cut/copy/paste or it will break.
