Missing Dependencies - Customer Service / Omnichannel

Hi all,

I am trying to import a solution into a DEV environment, but it fails because of missing dependencies.  The original source is a PROD environment.  The issue is that the Dynamics 365 apps that contain the dependencies aren't installed in the DEV environment, and I can't see a way to make this happen. I understand these should be automatically installed in an environment, and I can see they exist in the PROD and TEST environments but are missing in DEV.

This may be the wrong forum for this question, but I need to start somewhere.  Can anyone can suggest why these Dynamics 365 App components would be missing from the DEV environment?

Cheers, Innes (NZ)

    Hello!

I recommend checking the PROD and TEST environments to identify which Dynamics 365 apps are installed there.

The likely reason for the missing dependencies is that when the DEV environment was created, the option to include Dynamics 365 apps may not have been selected. By default, environments can be created without these apps, which would explain why they are missing.

If this is the case, you’ll need to install the required Dynamics 365 apps in the DEV environment. This can be done through the Power Platform Admin Center under the "Resources" > "Dynamics 365 apps" section.

Additionally, the tables in your screenshot are most likely tied to Dynamics 365 CRM. The solution you’re importing was probably developed in an environment that already had CRM installed, which is why these dependencies are now required in your DEV environment.

Hi and thanks for your response.  I ended up creating a new dev environment. I suspect that the previous environment had not been set up as a production environment so the missing Dynamic 365 apps never got installed.  I did try to install from the app libraries but couldn't get around some of the dependencies.  It just took time but was no big deal to build a new environment.  Cheers, Innes (NZ)
