No access to model-driven app in solution with custom security role

Hi,

I'm building a model-driven app with a couple of custom tables as part of a solution. To provide access to the app I have created a custom security role, which provides rw privileges to the custom tables and read privileges to the model-driven app entity.

I have a user who has been assigned the Basic User role and my custom security role.

Still the user cannot access the app. When the user tries to open the app there is an error message "We can't open this app. The app URL wasn’t found or you need permissions to open it. Please check the URL and try again, or contact your system administrator."

What permissions do I have to set in the custom security role, so the user can access the app?

Regards

Leo

    HI @leo85 ,

Sounds like you assigned the roles correctly.  Did you verify the user has a Power Apps Per App or a Power Apps Per User license?

    Hi Drew,

Yes, the user has a power apps per user license. To test, I assigned the system customizer role to the user and it worked fine. So it must have something to do with the security role's privileges.

    Hi @leo85 ,

I worked through it and figured out the problem.  I actually created the same condition in my environment with the same error...

When you go to the app in make.powerapps.com do the following:

    1. Choose to "Share"
    2. In the App name, top of list, check this
    3. Click on the roles and add "Basic User" and your custom role

At this point you can share with the users assigning the roles and it is successful.
