Hi, I'm curious about the data compression ratio in Microsoft Dataverse, but I can't find any official Microsoft documentation about this. Does anyone have insights or experiences to share regarding the compression efficiency within Dataverse?

Best regards,

Nghia

    Hi @Nghia

    @dpoggemann provided some comments here : https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/Microsoft-Dataverse/Infomation-related-to-the-storage-capacity-of-dataverse/td-p/1336229

    Hope this can help you.

    Hi @rampprakash, thanks for your reply.

    I read the comment, and @dpoggemann did say that "Microsoft does a great job of compressing data in Dataverse so you can store a lot of records within the allocation". The thing is, I want to know how efficient this data compression is in Dataverse. For example:

    We have 1 GB of raw data consisting of various records, such as customer information, product details, and transaction history. Let's assume with a compression ratio of 50%, the original 1 GB of data would be compressed to approximately 500 MB when stored in Dataverse.

    That's what I meant when I said data compression ratio, and I'm looking for official Microsoft documentation about that.

    Hi @Nghia ,

    I don't know of any official documentation on this.  I did do some analysis some years ago, see here:  Solved: Dataverse Storage calculation - Power Platform Community (microsoft.com)

    It's a shame that there is not any official documentation, but thank you very much for your informative analysis.
