Preview file from dataverse file column into my canvas app

Hi Experts,

I've been wondering if previewing a file that has been uploaded into the dataverse table's file column is possible without using a PCF component? I've been researching about this and only seeing that it can be done on PCF.

Your insights would help me a lot. Thank you in advance.

    Hi Do this

To preview the content of a document column in Dataverse using Power Apps, you can follow these steps:

    1. Create a Canvas App:

      • Open Power Apps and create a new Canvas App.
    2. Add a Data Source:

      • Connect your app to the Dataverse table that contains the document column.
    3. Use the PDF Viewer Control:

      • Insert a PDF Viewer control into your Canvas App. This control can display PDF files stored in your Dataverse.
    4. Retrieve the Document:

      • Use a formula to retrieve the document from the Dataverse column. For example, if your document column is named DocumentColumn, you can set the Document property of the PDF Viewer to:
        ThisItem.DocumentColumn

    5. Handle Authentication:

      • Ensure that the document URLs are accessible and do not require additional authentication. If they do, you might need to use Power Automate to fetch the document content and pass it to the PDF Viewer.
    6. Alternative Methods:

      • If the PDF Viewer control does not meet your needs, consider using other methods such as embedding the document as a media file or converting it to Base64 format .

Step 4 doesn´t work. You can´t include the PDF Viewer (experimental) component inside a gallery so you can´t call ThisItem.nameColumn.
Please explain this solution. How do you call the column from the pdf viewer?
