Formviewer Issue following June 13th web builder update?

Hello,

I have a 2 screen app that provides a listing of store locations and associated detail page with store level information.

I decided to use the static excel upload data source as my list of store is over 500 (830) and it will be used for purely read-only purposes.

I initially had trouble populating the detail page as powerapps didn't seem to recognize my uploaded static excel file as a data source. I ended up using ThisItem.'column name. for labels and it worked fine.

Today-(June 14th 2017)

I open the web builder and when I go to the detail page all the labels and data is still there but there the entire formviewer is greyed out and it says "connect to data" over top.

I have to assume this has something to do with the June 13 updates that were applied to the web builder as my app hasn't been updated in 4 days. My app still functions fine on the smartphone and all my labels are working, but I can't exactly work on the detail page because the entire formviewer module is greyed out and asking to connect to data. I tried to reconnect data to it, but then I get a duplicate of the table and it's still asking to 'connect to data'

Any help will be appreciated

    Hi NickK,

Is the detail page a screen that has a DisplayForm control?

As far as I know, static data is read only currently and seems that we can only show the data on a gallery but not display form or edit form.

On PowerApps studio for Windows, I also try to show data on a display form but with no success. I am always asked to “Connect to data” though I have already connected to the Excel table stored on local. On desktop studio, do you have the same issue with me?

    Best regards,
    Mabel Mao

    Hi @v-yamao-msft

It is a displayform that I'm using.

The strange thing is i was able to get it working using static data.

    For Item i used Gallery.Selected

    For labels I used ThisItem.'fieldname'

it worked perfectly fine with static data on the detail screen. (Everything was built using the web builder as my company doesn't allow us to download programs from the Windows Store.)

I went into the web builder yesterday and all of a sudden the form is asking to 'connect to data' on the detail screen which is blocking me from working on this screen. I had changed nothing as the app wasn't updated in 4 days.

Any help from Official Microsoft PowerApps support will be appreciated.

    Nick
