extract month number from month name

Dear Team,

I would like to extract the month number from the month name for data manipulation.

Example. in my drop down i have list of Months..

If i choose Jan, i would like to get it number value : 1, If I select Feb, i would like to get 2 etc.

Please assist.

I do not have any date columns. I just simply wanted to convert this Month as number and then i want to do a collection.

The reason, on change of dropdown, i wanted to change the collection records. So i would like to store the corresponding month value to a variable, and then i will substitute the variable in my formula.

Hi @venka91 ,

In that case you're probably going to have to use a Switch function to map the text against a number:

Switch(DropDown.Selected.Text, "Jan", 1, "Feb", 2, etc. )
