Hello All ,

I am pretty new to Power apps

I am connecting an excel file which is stored in sharepoint

I am using excel online connector to connect to powerapps

I am using following powerfx formula but it ends up giving blank gallery instead of searching

the table is only 50 row big

formula is
search(maintable,impsearch.text,"Name")

Please help

    Hi @sujitthakur

    It sounds like you just need to Filter your Gallery, not search.  Try this:

    1) Add a Gallery

    2) For the "Items" property, select your data source

    3) Add a text input

    4) Add a filter formula to the Gallery "Items" property to use this text input as your search

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-apps/maker/canvas-apps/add-gallery#filter-and-sort-a-gallery

    The formula would look something like this:

    Filter(DataSource,Column = TextInput1.Text)

    @sujitthakur

    Excel is a terrible datasource. Move your data to SharePoint.

    @Drrickryp I will for sure after my demo to my seniors

    But for now it is mandatory to be in excel as there are some external contributors to data

    Is there a screenshot or something you can provide so we can troubleshoot why your gallery is blank?  Or at least the formula you are using would be helpful

    @sujitthakur ,

    As you tagged me, I will add a small contribution and support @Drrickryp here - the query power of Excel is very limited (compared with SharePoint) and I suspect you have a big list there. There is nothing wrong with your code (which would work perfectly in SharePoint). You could try StartsWith() and see if you get data that way.
