Hi,
I've signed up to the Microsoft developer environment (https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/dev-program) for Power App development. But when I tried to use some of the test accounts it is showing as they need premium app licenses. I tried to add the licenses in the Admin portal but it is asking me to pay for them (not something I want to do for a development tenant).
Is there a way to add licenses to the dev tenant to be used by the test accounts without paying for them (as with how important premium license are becoming it makes the tenant not useful for development)
thank you
Hi @wyattdave
Unfortunately no, there's no way to add premium licences without paying for them.
As you may have gathered, with the developer environment, you can create apps with premium connectors and run/test the apps from Power Apps studio. It's only when you share and play the app outside of the editor that you need to pay for the license.
Hi timl,
Thank you for letting me know, its a shame as part of development I wanted to test different security roles on different test accounts. With Microsoft pushing everything into premium the usefulness of test accounts for Power Platform will continue to diminish.
