8I’m trying to achieve the following workflow in Copilot Studio, but I’m running into issues:
What I want to do:
- Based on the user’s input prompt, the AI should determine filtering conditions for an Excel (or CSV) file
- Use the Code Interpreter capability to apply those filters
- Extract the necessary information from the Excel file
- Generate an answer while referencing that extracted data
What I’ve tried so far:
- Uploaded an Excel file under Copilot Studio > Agent > Knowledge, but it doesn’t seem like the Code Interpreter is reading it
- On the other hand, when I upload a CSV file as an attachment, the Code Interpreter appears to read and process it correctly
What I want to achieve:
- Avoid using attachments and instead have the agent reference only the Excel file stored in Knowledge
- Specifically, I want the agent to directly read the Excel file from Knowledge, apply filtering, extract data, and use that data in its response
Questions:
- Is it possible for Copilot Studio agents to read Excel files stored in Knowledge using the Code Interpreter?
- If yes, what is the correct setup or best practice to make this work?
- If not, what alternative approach would you recommend?
