Missing option to make agent available in Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat

When I first published my Copilot Studio agent to Microsoft Teams, I had the option of making the agent available in Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat but I did not check the checkbox at the time (the option is highlighted in red from the Microsoft Learn documentation). However, the requirements for the project have changed and I now want to make the agent available in Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat but the option to do so is no longer there (the option doesn't show up anymore when I select the Teams channel). On the channels page under the Microsoft channels section, Microsoft 365 is no longer there and it only shows Microsoft Teams. How can I bring back the option to make the agent available in Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat again?

Based on my experience, you cannot re‑enable the Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat checkbox once the Teams channel has been added without it. The only supported way today is to remove the Teams channel configuration and re‑add it, then enable Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat during that re‑addition.

Hi, hope you are doing well.

The M365 channel is often hidden if your agent doesn't meet specific security prerequisites:

Authentication: The agent must use "Authenticate with Microsoft" (Entra ID) to be eligible for M365 Copilot. If it is set to "No authentication," the M365 option may be restricted or unavailable.

Image Generation: Ensure "Image Generation" features are turned off in your agent settings, as this is a known cause for the M365 channel refusing to show or publish.

Check Admin Status: Ensure your Microsoft 365 admin hasn't disabled "custom agents" or "integrated apps" in the Microsoft 365 Admin Center, as tenant-level blocks can remove channel options from the maker portal.

What I would suggest you can try for now:

In Copilot Studio, go to Channels.

Select the Microsoft Teams tile.

Select Remove channel (this disconnects the agent from Teams but does not delete your agent's content).

Refresh your browser page.

⁠Go to the Publish page, unpublish the agent, wait 2–3 minutes, and then perform a fresh Publish.

Select Add channel and choose the Teams and Microsoft 365 Copilot tile again. This should trigger the full configuration panel where you can now check the "Make agent available in Microsoft 365 Copilot" box

If none of these seem to work, you could raise a ticket to Microsoft.
