Publishing an agent to MS Teams

I have successfully created a number copilot agents within Microsoft copilot studio and successfully added them to teams and Microsoft copilot 365. However, suddenly, when I now create an agent using the same method and try to add it to Teams or 365 I get the following message "Permissions needed. Ask your IT admin to add 'Agent' to this team/chat/meeting". Help.

    i would look at this post as this is one that people are reporting the same issue.

    raised a ticket wit MS no answer, maybe track that item instead

    Hello JW-15011557-0,
    Your tenant has agent governance policies in place, which means admin approval is now required for adding new agents.

    How to Fix (Admin Needed):

    Teams Admin Center Steps:

    1. Navigate to Teams apps and select Manage apps
    2. Look up your agent or "Copilot Studio"
    3. Change the status to Allowed
    4. Apply the right Permission policies

    Microsoft 365 Admin Center Steps:

    1. Go to Settings and choose Integrated apps
    2. Find the agent and Deploy it to the relevant users or groups

    In Copilot Studio:

    • Review Settings → Security → Share with to ensure the right sharing options are set

    Reason for the Change:

    • Microsoft has implemented stricter governance for Copilot agents (effective late 2025/early 2026)
    • Your tenant’s policies now require admin approval for new agents
    • Existing agents remain active, but new ones must be explicitly approved

    Please reach out to your IT admin to update app permission policies as needed.
