Hey PowerAppers,
I'm encountering an issue with Model-Driven Power Apps and their interaction with Business Process Flows (BPFs).
We have an approval workflow set up using Power Automate, which automatically moves the BPF to the next stage once an approval is granted — similar to what's described in this post: https://community.dynamics.com/blogs/post/?postid=ee6f6065-cdc2-4e1c-bd68-8cced12e00ea
The problem is: after the approval is completed and the BPF stage is advanced, the record (to which the BPF is related) doesn't refresh automatically. The changes are only visible after manually opening the item. I've attached some screenshots for clarity.
This behavior is quite frustrating for our users. Is there a known setting, workaround, or best practice to ensure the the updateded BPF stage is reflected immediately?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Hi Gabriel,
Thank you for your response, and apologies for my delayed reply, I was on vacation.
I understand what you’re saying, but that’s not quite what I meant.
The issue is that even though the approval was completed months ago, the Record in the View is still showing the previous BPF stage. The stage only updates when I manually open the record in form view. Refreshing etc. does nothing.
It seems like there's some kind of event triggered only when the record is opened, which causes the BPF stage to refresh. That doesn’t really make sense to me, especially since this is referenced data I’m using the Default BPF reference table that lists all BPFs with their respective referenced Record and the Current stage.
Maybe it’s some odd behavior within Dataverse. I’m not entirely sure.
Best regards, Patrick
