Hi,
I’m using the Prompt tool in Copilot Studio and would like multiple users to collaborate on editing the same prompt. However, I noticed that even after I share the prompt with other users, they are still unable to edit it.
I’d like to ask:
Thanks.

AZ-01040635-0 Thanks for the question! Here’s how collaboration works with prompts in Copilot Studio:
Are specific permissions or roles required for editing? – Sharing lets others run or use a prompt, but there is no permission that lets others edit the same prompt within Copilot Studio itself.
Workaround for collaborative prompt development – Microsoft recommends using reusable prompt files stored in a shared repository. These are .prompt.md files (e.g., in .github/prompts/[title].prompt.md) that anyone with repo access can update and maintain. When referenced, these shared files ensure team members are using the same tested and updated prompts. – This approach doesn’t offer real‑time editing inside Copilot Studio’s UI, but it does allow multiple team members to contribute and refine the same prompt content collaboratively via the repository.
