Can the Custom Prompts feature (using AI Builder) access my bot's knowledge base?

I am currently developing an Autonomous Agent. He has to compare a lot of information related to our office (saved in my agent's knowledge base) with PDFs I send to my Autonomous Agent. Still, since this uses the Custom Prompt feature, an AI Builder technology, which is integrated into Copilot Studio, I'm rather unaware if it even checks my knowledge base properly due to this.

I'm basically asking:

1 - If I write a custom prompt in Microsoft Copilot, will the output include my Autonomous Agent's knowledge? I'm assuming I did mention that in the custom prompt of course.
2 - Is there any other way I can allow my bot to receive files in Copilot Studio?
3 - In case Copilot can't check the knowledge base through this Prompt feature, do you know any alternative way of making it review and rewrite the text with the info in the knowledge base in mind?

Thank you for your attention!

So let me break this down and also ask questions.

1 - If I write a custom prompt in Microsoft Copilot, will the output include my Autonomous Agent's knowledge? I'm assuming I did mention that in the custom prompt of course.
--I would need to set your agent, yes, it is very possible, or you need to define it to do so. Its not enough to just say yes or no.

2 - Is there any other way I can allow my bot to receive files in Copilot Studio?
Absolutely, there are multiple ways. You said its autonomous. You can send it emails with attachments, you can trigger when a file is created and import that into Copilot Studio via trigger and many others.

3 - In case Copilot can't check the knowledge base through this Prompt feature, do you know any alternative way of making it review and rewrite the text with the info in the knowledge base in mind?
Again, I would need to see the Flow (I don't mean PA Flow), I would need to really and truly see the flow of operations you are performing. It very well can and could use them. I tend to be very specific in my instructions in cases where I want it to use a specific knowledge source OR NOT to use it by telling it in its instructions, or the Topic/node instructions.

Still, since this uses the Custom Prompt feature, an AI Builder technology, which is integrated into Copilot Studio, I'm rather unaware if it even checks my knowledge base properly due to this
-please specifically share what you have. Again its difficult to just say yes, without seeing what your Agent looks like, how its triggered, how OnActivity is setup etc etc

Happy to help though just need more information.

    Cheers!

    Hi,

    1) Custom Prompts created using AI Builder in Copilot Studio do not automatically access your Autonomous Agent’s knowledge base, unless you configure the prompt to do so.
    Refer to: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/ai-builder/use-a-custom-prompt-in-mcs

    2) Yes, Files uploaded by users are typically stored in connected OneDrive or SharePoint storage, and your agent can access them. You can refer to this video:
    https://youtu.be/I0TPj62Dhsc?si=_Zzb8wLlzw4nh3E0

    3) Yes, I would try to use Power Automate.

Files uploaded are not stored in SharePoint they are stored in Dataverse as that is the back end for Copilot not sharepoint.

Just made a test that illustrates the whole big issue I'm facing.

Created a custom prompt called "Test Knowledge Base MOD", which is only meant to check if custom prompts can access the knowledge base of the agent I created.

This is the input. Quite simple.

Thus, I added a Word file with a pretty straightforward sentence.

After that, I uploaded it to my agent's knowledge base. This is how this file is shown in the knowledge base:

And finally, I tested the action itself. Look at what happens:
Which is ironic, because if I just avoid using a custom prompt and just ask normally to the AI, it is able to fetch its own knowledge to elaborate an answer.

It did hallucinate a little bit, the AI probably thought he was Robert Smith from The Cure since I didn't limit it to its own database, but it fetched correctly that he likes chess (xadrez) in my document (testInfo.docx), which means the knowledge base information is accessible if I just talk to the AI normally.

Now, the big issue is: how to make the AI use its knowledge base when elaborating a custom prompt? I mean, it's clearly not using it when I use the custom prompt feature.
