Canvas App shows “Page Unresponsive” for some users during load – works fine for maker/admin

I have a Power Apps Canvas App deployed in a client’s environment.

Issue

For some client users, while opening the app, the browser shows a popup:

“Page Unresponsive – Wait / Cancel”

 

  • Clicking Wait multiple times eventually opens the app, but it takes a long time.

  • The issue does NOT occur for me (app maker / admin user).

  • The same environment works fast for my account, but is slow for other users.

    What code do you have at App OnStart and your landing screen OnVisible ?
    Is anything here a collection (how big?) or a non-delegable query ?
    Do all users have read/write permissions to all attached data sources ?

    Sorry for the very delayed response
    OnVisible of the screen and OnStart of the app there were very less code and no big collections
    All users have access to the data sources 
    I removed the popup using command prompt (Run as administrator)
    which helped me as every time it rechecks permission for each and every connection i used which leads to consume lot of time so removing popup helped me as it checks the permissions at very first time and then on every refresh or visits, it directly opens the app

    The “Page Unresponsive” issue occurs because end users trigger heavy synchronous startup processing combined with connector authentication and permission
     
    checks, which block the browser thread.
     
    Maker accounts don’t experience this as much due to caching and elevated access.
     
    The solution is to minimize OnStart logic, defer data loading, use concurrent execution, and reduce connector calls so the app loads progressively instead of
     
    blocking the UI.
