Colunms SharePoint not recognized in different Language

Hello everyone,

After the last update (March 2025), a strange bug appeared.
If I connect to the Power Apps cloud IDE (for example in Italian) and set a specific Sharepoint column name in a formula, the same column in English is not recognized.

Any ideas?

It didn't do it before, and the same name was valid in all languages.
Does it do it to you too?

I'm waiting for your feedback

    hey

is this related to power platform at all or only sharepoint related?

if it is sharepoint only please post here:

I'm not sure whether you're just curious why this happens, or whether something is breaking.  SharePoint does have the abiity to have a different string for the display name of a column (sometimes called the name) in different languages, which can be different from the internal name.  The SharePoint connector does show the name differently based on the language of the user, and the IDE shows the localized name of the column... eventually.  It could be a while before the IDE figures out the language.

In SharePoint, newly created columns other than the built-in columns, initially have names in all languages that match the internal name.  The name in different languages can later change to suit the language of the user.  When it's just in the IDE, it's innocuous.  You can select the Italian name, but it's actually selecting the internal name, which is the same in all languages.  But in a formula, you have to make sure to not use the "Name" or "Display Name", because that will be different for different users depending on their language.  Use the internal name or logical name instead.

    thanks for the reply.
so the display name is translated, but the column name is not.
So in my case, I have to remap the fields with the column names and not with the display names.
    Correct?

I have seen lot of post recently where Power App is not able to recognize the display name of the field and it needs internal name of the column. Not sure it is bug or MS is doing something weired from backend but it is hampering lot of users. So better to swtich to internal names.
