Can't see data from excel online in power app

Hi guys,

I’m using Power Apps with Excel Online (Business) connector.

I signed in with the A tenant (father tenant), when adding data source, I cannot see some Excel files stored in SharePoint sites in tenant A, i only see the excel files in B tenant ( child tenant of A tenant), both tenant are using the same account.

The excel files i want to use are stored in SharePoint sites in tenant A, that are connected to Microsoft 365 Groups (private group).

❓ Question:

1. How can i make excel files in tenant A visible in adding data in power apps ?

2. If using a workaround by copying files to SharePoint site in tenant B, what is the recommended way to keep data in sync with the original file in tenant A ?

I have the same question (0)

    Hello,

Could you please let em know where you are trying to create powerapp? Is it in tenant A?

Power Apps data connections are tenant-specific and connection-specific, just like in Power Automate

    Thank you.

This is a tenant context issue in Microsoft Power Apps.
    • Even with the same account, the Excel Online (Business) connector only shows files from the tenant you’re currently connected to.
Q1: How to access Excel in Tenant A?
    Best fix:
    • Recreate the connection and sign into Tenant A explicitly
    Alternative:
    • Use SharePoint connector and connect directly to the site
Q2: Sync data if using Tenant B?
    Recommended:
    • Use Microsoft Power Automate
    • Create a flow to copy/sync file from Tenant A → Tenant B

Power Apps connections are tenant-bound, so you must connect to the correct tenant or use a sync workaround
