What type of files is it? And how long have you left it?

    Thanks

    Hi

It is a word file, and I have left it for days at a time. Deleted it. Reduced the file size to only contain a paragraph. Tried to re-upload it. Even started a new agent from scratch - still the knowledge does not want to load

Since you've tried reducing the file to a single paragraph and starting a brand new agent with the same result, the problem is definitely not the file itself. This is an environment-level issue.
Two confirmed causes from community investigation:

    1. Managed Environments if your environment is a Managed Environment, knowledge file processing can get stuck indefinitely. Multiple users confirmed this in community threads. Check in Power Platform Admin Center whether your environment is a Managed Environment.

    2. Environment provisioning issue — Microsoft has confirmed cases where the background service that processes knowledge files stops working correctly in specific environments. The only fix Microsoft applied was reprovisioning the environment on their end.

    What to do:

First, try a completely different environment. Create a free developer environment in PPAC (if you don't have one) and try uploading the same Word file as knowledge there. If it works immediately, you've confirmed the problem is isolated to your current environment.

If it works in another environment but not yours, raise a Microsoft support ticket. Include: the environment ID, the fact that even a one-paragraph Word file stays In Progress indefinitely, and that creating a new agent in the same environment has the same result. Ask them specifically to check whether the knowledge indexing service needs to be reprovisioned for your environment.

There is no self-service fix for this once it's confirmed to be environment-level.

    Best regards,
