Hello,

I have a power app created that is connected to an excel table. and don't want to give write access to all the people in the group to access the excel.
I found Raza's video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ts-ggDAy7IQ&lc=UgzixWiCT3JTUVCKarx4AaABAg.APuYdQuncfhAPx409AAdBm
here he explains everything very well, but the only problem is he is using a list in stead of excel.
i have created the power automate flow, but with excel, and when using the get row function there are 2 mandatory fields that i don't konw what to fill in.

Has anyone linked a power app with excet table , with a power automate to elevate user permissions ?

Thank you.

in the get a row field, after i selected my file, and selected my table:
key column: body('Add_a_row_into_a_table')?['ID'] ( as per video )   - this is to convert back the json to dynamic so it can be selected in the send email action.
key value: ??? - in the video there is only 1 requirement for get item, since its a list.

with this line: body('Add_a_row_into_a_table')?['ID']  - i was able to dynamically select the field in the sent email action.
wired since in my excel table i have a column generated when linking it to power apps: __PowerAppsId__

do you think i need to replace the [ID]  with [__PowerAppsId__] ?
and what to fill in for the key value ?

    Thank you

Retrieving rows from Excel requires a unique column.  SharePoint automatically creates an auto generated ID value that uniquely identifies each row. In Excel, this is not the case and you would need to manually specify a unique ID value when creating the record. This is the value that you would choose when you call get row function.
To __PowerAppsId__ value is automatically generated from Power Apps when you connect to Excel. This is not the case when you add records from Power Automate, so changing ID to __PowerAppsId__ would likely not work.

I'm the same user as the one who posted the question.

What would be the correct input for the 2 fields:
    key column:
    key value:

In your Excel spreadsheet, you would need to add an ID column.

This ID value would need to be set to to a unique value in your Power Apps edit form.

In your flow, key column would then be "ID" and the key value would be the ID value that's specified in your edit form during the entry of the record. I would suggest that you add another parameter in your flow to accept this value.

SharePoint automatically generates unique ID values, Excel doesn't which is why you have to do the above.

If you choose not to use ID, you can pass a key column of a column that you know will contain unique values.
