Community Corner 14: Template/Spotlight (Community Roundup)

Template

Are you required to use an inefficient method to track your working hours daily? Do you struggle to track all of your working hours efficiently and need a way of organizing this necessary daily task? Well, Microsoft Flow is your simple answer to this important problem! This push-button Flow template will connect to your Flow Mobile App and to your Excel Online accounts. In order to use this Flow Template, you will need to create an Excel Online (Business) table with the following columns: Date; Timestamp. With these connections, a Flow mobile button will be created that upon pushing it, extracts the current date and timestamp and inputs the information into the Excel sheet that you've made and then sends you a mobile notification to let you know that the Flow ran successfully and that your hours have been tracked. You'll now be tracking your work hours with literally the push of a button thanks to this Microsoft Flow Template. Click the picture to visit this template on the Flow website.

Spotlight (Community Roundup)

So, throughout my usual work week, I see many (potentially hundreds) of unique interactions between the users on this Community and I must say that out of all of my experience using and working within online communities that we really have a positive morale going here along with a strong sense of a supportive community among users. This type of environment develops in a place where people are truly coming together to accomplish a common goal. The main thing that will cause drama and disarray within any type of community is someone or a group of people that are set out to complete a different goal than the majority of the community. Within this community, I've seen nothing of the sort. For that, we should be grateful!

With all of that said, this week I'd like to shine the Community Spotlight on a few of the forum threads that came across and felt were great examples of our users helping to maintain and continue to build this supportive environment and mentality that the users share throughout the community.

General Flow Discussion - Yet again, @ScottShearer is helping users with building Flows and using the Flow Community!

Connecting To Data - An old thread revisited for an information update, I love to see users doing helpful things like this!

Building Flows - A user came back to a post from over 6 months ago to update it with an action that is now available!

Also, here's a popular Flow Idea that has been voted up recently:

Flow Ideas - https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/Flow-Ideas/Sharepoint-Create-Folder/idi-p/19088

These kinds of things are super helpful to keep this community growing because when we are all here to help each other and help create resources for others to use, it can really create a friendly and inviting environment. Learning and growing our skill sets as individuals are some of the most valuable things that we can take away from a community like this at the end of the day. I really hope to see this community continue to grow and thrive like it has been. I'll do everything I can to make sure it is functioning beautifully along the way!

So, THANK YOU, to everyone reading this. Because even if you just clicked your way over to this page to read through this article, I know it has made an impact on the way that you define online community in one way or another. And that's the goal, to create an online community like never before. We are accomplishing this goal every day thanks to our users, so keep it up!!

As always, thanks for reading and I hope you have an awesome weekend!
