Scottish Power Platform User Group are proud to present our next in person event.

We will have two speakers on the evening

Sharon Smith presents: Collapsing BizApps: the AI & Agents driving the Dynamics 365 UI/UX Revolution

As we enter the Era of Agents, the notion of Business Applications - of CRUD databases with a bunch of business logic - is collapsing.
The logic is going to agents who are multi-repo CRUD - they won't discriminate what the back end is. They will update multiple databases.

These are the paraphrased words of Satya Nadella, Microsoft's CEO, in January 2025.

So what does that mean for products such as Dynamics 365 and Power Apps that are very static UI-led?

Once all the logic is in the AI tier, what will that ultimate futuristic expression look like?

This session gets hands-on to explore the evolution already being seen as AI drives the UI/UX revolution and we pivot to the concept of the /UI for AI/.

Simon Greenall presents: From Chaos to Community: Building a Makers Journey in Higher Education

In many higher education institutions, the rise of low-code development has empowered staff to become solution creators—or “Makers”—using tools like Power Apps, and Power Automate. However, without structured enablement, this can lead to inconsistent, unsupported, and potentially insecure business-critical applications.

This session explores how a UK university designed a scalable and repeatable enablement framework—The Makers Journey—to guide citizen developers from initial curiosity to confident solution delivery. Built on the foundations of community resources, Microsoft Learn, and tailored in-house content, the Makers Journey provides a structured pathway for learning, governance, and community building.

Attendees will learn how the university aligned its Makers with best practices in solution architecture, application lifecycle management (ALM), and data governance, while fostering a collaborative environment that encourages innovation and reduces technical debt.

Join us at the Poetry club on 29th July at 6pm for what is shaping up to be a fantastic event!
