LCARS Flexible Height Gallery (Are you a Star Trek fan?)

This is a fun app that uses the Flexible Height Gallery Control. In a "real life" scenario we could use this app to report alien slightings to our StarFleet offices on Earth. I give myself challenges like this sometimes just to practice control placement and dynamic configurations.

 

Key function in this app is the GroupBy() function which helped me to group cities under a country from a collection. Learn more about the GroupBy() function here.

 

Browse the configuration of this small app in order to learn how to use flexible height galleries and list boxes to create a variable height scenario. (App will be attached shortly...thank you for your patience)

    Here is stripped down version of the app so you can see the configuration. You'd want to attach to CDS or SharePoint for actual alien submission. Data in a collection viewable from the OnVisible property of the screen.
