Business central Dataverse connector returning error 500

Hey there,

I'm currently working on a portal for clients to see, approve and download their invoices.

Since we work in business Central, I ended up using the Dataverse connector.

But I'm stuck on an error 500, I will outline the steps I took to get to this point to maybe give a better explanation.

Note: this was all tested on a trial e3 account.

Step 1

Set up the dataverse connector inside business central using "Dataverse connection "setup".

Step 2

make the needed tables available, by setting visible to "yes".

Step 3

Make a new website in power pages and check if the tables are available and have data.

Step 4

Add the table into a page view.

Step 5

Apply the permissions.

Step 6 - The problem

Now when i try to show this in the live preview i get this error, and when i open the developer options it says "error 500" which after looking up means "any error we have no clue about" (i think).

I'm at a bit of a loss and any help is greatly appreciated, if there's something i did not explain properly i will try my best to explain better.

Thank you so much in advance!

This a Site Setting. You can try to find it in the table before creating a new record. The name will be the key.

Configure site settings for Power Pages sites. | Microsoft Learn

What do you have configured for this setting? See the documentation from Microsoft. Try the Default option.

Re: Business central Dataverse connector returning error 500

Thank you so much for the reply Gabriel,

After following your suggestion and checking the logs i'm pretty sure this is the error generated when i try to load the website.

    RequestData:, RequestPath:, RequestExtension:, SessionId:, UserId:, CorrelationId:44f00d46-d47e-4973-9a60-ec76dec3710d, Elapsed:0, MemberName:ToCookieOptions, SourceFilePath:C:\__w\1\s\Framework\Adxstudio.Xrm\AspNet\Cms\StartupSettingsManager.cs, SourceLineNumber:574, Category:Application, Message:Invalid path string site setting value for the site setting:Authentication/ApplicationCookie/LoginPath, ErrorCategory:ApplicationError

The part that stood out to me is

Message:Invalid path string site setting value for the site setting:Authentication/ApplicationCookie/LoginPath

But unfortunately, it still didn't end up making a lot of sense for me. Do u have any idea what this means?

    Thank you in advance!

You can try to enable the diagnostic logs to get more details about it. I also suggest restarting the portal once the configuration is done.
