Hello,

I can't find information online on how to use the table permission "account". Which tables have to be connected for it to work? I get no rows back when trying this permission with on an list. My more specific task i want to achieve is to assign an row to an company so all contacts can see that row.

Best Regards,,

Fabian

    Hello @fg-PowerPages,

I guess you have a list with contacts and another column with a LookUp to a company correct?

Every user which is logged in shall only see the accounts linked to their company if I got it correct. You can create a webrole for the users of each company and show the list depending on that webrole.

    Hope that helps.

Hey @Lucas001, firstly thanks for your answer. I don't really get it. I have a table for example an fish table with different fishes inside. Different users can now create entries. Only users from the same company (the account table in dataverse) have permission to see the entries. So users can see rows that were create by others in the same company but not by users that are not in that company. How can I set that up? To which tables to I need the lookups? It is the account table permission if iam correct?

    Best regards

    Fabian

    Hi @fg-PowerPages,

can you see if that works for you?

You table with fishes need a lookup column to a company.

When a row is added you set up a column which says created by xyz and another column where the company of xyz is in. You should have the table account where each user has a company. Now you can create a filter on the company of that user and filter all fishes depending on their assigned company.

Okey @Lucas001, think you missunderstood my question. I don't want to filter the table. I want to add a table permission in which the company is assigned to an user.

    Hi @fg-PowerPages,

ah okay, sorry. A table permission is not going to assign a company to a contact. Is it possible for you to know from which company the user is? Than you could just use a flow when an entry is created and populate the a lookup field for that row.

    Hi @fg-PowerPages,

let's say you have a company table and your contacts table.

    1. You create a column of type lookup in the contacts table.
    2. Create a flow with the trigger 'When a row is created, modified'
    3. You should be able to tell in some way to which company the mail belongs - emailadress, location etc.
    4. Use the action update a row and insert the o.data inside the lookup - that way you populate lookUp fields in PA

    Hope that helps
