Output from received HTTP request not passed as Dynamic Content

This post appears to have the same problem, but never responded with a confirmed answer.  I have a very simple json schema that includes Inventory#.  I see it show up as Dynamic Content when building the flow, but it never ends up getting a value when I run the flow.  I can see the value that was received in the raw output from the first step when I test the flow.

I tested manually specifying a value to the "Get Items" step and then my flow works as expected.  Inventory# will always have a value from my http request so I assume I don't need to spend time building null handing logic.  That's the value I need to complete the flow.  It's just looking up a record in a SharePoint list and returning some fields which I'm selecting in the next step and then returning as a response to the http request.  Not much to it.
