Does the tables need to be linked for the Current Location field to be populated

Apologies for the silly question but after the issue with importing the animal table, im trying to create the currentlocation column via power fx. now looking at some the the forums i have seen many different versions. i have watched the video in the resources which basically just lets you know what you can do if you know what you are doing.

this is partially working, what im having diffculty with is i cant seem to pick up any colums in the shelter table. so am a little unsure how the relation ships are created. is this after this step or before.

If(IsBlank('Date of Adoption'),

If(IsBlank('Date of foster'),'Initial Shelter'),

'Foster Claimer'

)

as i understand it these will be the relationships but am unsure how to sert these up

From the “Shelter table” the ShelterID column is related to “Foster family table” with LocalShelter.

From the “Shelter table” the ShelterID column is related to “Animal table” with InitialShelter.

The Animal table shows a table “FosterClaimed” which is related to “Foster Family table” to the column FosterID.

any help would be appreciated
