Submitting form only at the end of the Mult-step form

Hi @Fubar and everyone,

I have followed this thread : https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/General-Discussions/Multi-step-form-with-power-automate/m-p/2395950.

My mult-step form has 3 tabs.

In the flow, I am using the trigger -  "When a row is added, modified or deleted".  But the fields from the 2nd and 3rd tabs are not picked up and thus these fields are blank when used in the "Start and Wait for Approval" connector.  Attached are the screenshots at the Power Page Management Portal.

My first screen/tab.

Any help is appreciated! Thanks in advance!

    Hi @0orion0 ,

    Please follow the below steps:

Create new field call issubmitted and this field is Two Options(Yes/No) and at the last stage set its value on save with true by using the attribute metadata as shown below

    EmadBeshai_0-1720022168031.png

After that filter your Power Automate flow to trigger when the change done on the issubmitted field as shown below

Please let me know if you need any more clarification.

Haven't tried what you have setup, usually when you do autogenerate from Tabs, you do not configure additional steps (i.e. the autogenerate is usually used as the complete set of steps - and it is this set of steps that your user can go through without the record saving until the submit at the end).  If it works with additional steps after it (the autogenerate set will still be the point where it inserts/saves first and then your  other steps will be update/insert as you define them), and so for additional steps then your flow would need to trigger on an add or update of something on the other steps. I generally don't use the autogenerate and instead, I would usually create a Status Reason named Draft and set it as the default (so every time the record is created it starts as Draft), and then on the last form Step use Metadata to set a Status Reason of Submitted (then pick up the change of the Status Reason = Submitted).

Edit: also if using Flow you can add to the Filter Rows on the trigger node, so the flow only triggers on a specific field value and not on every value change (so it operates as an "only run when field = submitted")

    Hi @EmadBeshai , @Fubar

Thanks for the detailed explaination and screenshoots EmadBeshai,  I was eager to test out what you shown but unfortunately due to me trying out autogenerate method, somehow cause the multi-step form to have crytic error : "We're sorry, but something went wrong. Please try again ...."
I have to recreate the forms and multi-step container from scratch and it did not happen again <finger crossed>.

I have created the field issubmitted and make it a yes/no. Then I went to the last tab and went to the form metadata. But I could not find the field issubmitted. It seems to be not present.

I am able to pull out the field from this section, must I set this first ?

    Thanks in advance !

Just a note, anybody who comes here next time, must remember to create 2 issubmitted fields in 2 tables - the main table (in my case, contractor) and the Contact table.

    Hi,

Unfortunately, the person who responded with the Answer, included a broken image of the screenshot:

Can anybody assist in providing the location as to where the metadata attribute is located?

    Thanks
