Hi Everyone, In Power Pages for the local authentication we have users data stored in contact table , I want to reset password for any of the user from the database side, I have observed that it stores the password in the encrypted form in database So is there any way we can change the users passwords from backend

You can't reset the password from the database side. You can reset the password by going into Power Pages Management -> Contacts -> Select the contact -> Ensure you're in the Portal Contact table (See below screenshot) -> Select the 3 dots (see below screenshot) -> Select Change Password.

If you don't have your email setup, you will need to go into the Notes & Activities tab, find the email and click the link to reset the password.

If this helps, please give me a kudos and accept this as a solution.

    Hi @Pragatij

There is a column "New Password Input" in contact table. You just need to update this field with random password such as HeyMyNewPassword or any other random text. The hash value and security stamp would be generated automatically, no extra steps needed.

We couldn't show the field value on Dataverse UI/Portal UI due to security reasons, but we can set it's value on UI/Dataverse table for sure. That means, looking at the contact record we wouldn't know what's the password. Because after refresh this field is blank (due to data security reasons). But admin users can set it on UI and change the password.

    Hope it helps!

    Thanks,

    Shubham
