Web Page Accerss Error When Permissions Applied

If I leave the toggle default position "Page available to everyone" as is I can see all items, including the page I created.

If I change the toggle, add 'Administrator' and 'Authenticated User', and update the 'Selected Roles'...

...and try to 'Browse the website', I get the following web access error.

Thoughts or what I'm doing wrong?

    Hi @Phineas

Please follow the instructions from @Anonymous . I completely agree portal studio experience is still flaky.

In addition, in the below thread I have clearly provided instructions on how you can apply web page access control rules and restrict pages

Hi @Phineas , in my opinion the studio experience yet to grow so to access more advanced features you need to switch back to Portal Management App

Whats happening in your case that you are restricting the homepage and its child files completely from anyone accept for auth users which they wont have a change to authenticate cause the sign in files are restricted (its a gap and they should prevent us from falling in this mistake)

anyway, to fix it, try the below :

You can use Web Page Access Control Rules to restrict access to the home page, forcing all initial requests to go over to the Sign In page. This was followed up by a note from MVP Andre Margono (https://andz88.wordpress.com/) where he mentioned that he had a blog post on that specific topic.

So, long story short, if you want to force everyone to log into your Portal, simply create a Web Page Access Control Rule of type Restrict Read on the Home page of your Portal – and be sure to set the scope to “Exclude direct child web files” (more on that in the next section).

    I hope this help
